Thank you for using SPL Auction. We aim to provide a transparent and fair marketplace for buyers and sellers. As SPL Auction acts as a platform for auction organizers, this Cancellation and Refund Policy outlines the circumstances under which cancellations and refunds may be issued, and how such matters will be handled.

Please read this policy carefully. By using our platform, you agree to the following terms regarding cancellations and refunds.

1. General Principles

  • Platform Role: SPL Auction is a platform that allows auction organizers to host auctions and sell items. We do not directly manage the sales, bids, or transactions between organizers and bidders. As a result, cancellation and refund decisions are primarily handled by the auction organizers.
  • Organizer Policies: Each auction may have its own specific cancellation and refund policies, which may differ from this general policy. You are responsible for reviewing the terms and conditions of each auction before placing a bid.

2. Cancellation Policy

  • Bid Cancellation by Bidder: Once you place a bid in an auction, it is considered final, and you are committed to completing the transaction if you are the winning bidder. However, if you wish to cancel a bid before an auction closes, you must contact the auction organizer directly. SPL Auction cannot cancel bids or reverse the auction process.

  • Auction Cancellation by Organizer: Auction organizers have the right to cancel or suspend an auction at any time before it concludes. This may occur for various reasons, such as technical issues, errors in listing, or any other factors. If an auction is canceled, SPL Auction will notify affected bidders and provide information about any further actions, but refunds or other compensations are the responsibility of the auction organizer.

  • Item Availability: If an auction is canceled after a bid has been placed or won, the auction organizer will work directly with you to address any concerns. SPL Auction is not responsible for the availability of items listed in an auction, and any cancellations of individual items or entire auctions are subject to the organizer’s policies.

3. Refund Policy

  • Refunds for Winning Bidders: If you win an auction, you are obligated to complete the purchase and pay the total amount due, including any applicable taxes, fees, and shipping costs. Refunds for winning bids will only be issued under the following circumstances:

    • The auction organizer has explicitly agreed to offer a refund due to item defects, misrepresentation, or failure to deliver the item.
    • The item you won was damaged during shipping, and the auction organizer’s return/refund policy allows for a refund.

    Refunds Process: Refund requests must be submitted to the auction organizer in accordance with their return/refund policy. SPL Auction does not handle the actual refund transactions between bidders and auction organizers.

  • Refunds for Canceled Auctions: If an auction is canceled by the organizer before it concludes, no purchase is made, and no payment is required. In such cases, no refund will be needed.

  • Processing Time: If a refund is agreed upon by the auction organizer, it may take several business days to process, depending on the payment method used and the policies of the auction organizer.

  • Non-Refundable Fees: Any fees charged by SPL Auction (such as listing fees, platform fees, or other administrative fees) are generally non-refundable unless SPL Auction has made an error that requires a refund.

4. Disputes and Issues with Auctions

  • Disputes with Organizers: If you encounter a problem with an auction, such as item misrepresentation or failure to deliver, you should first attempt to resolve the issue with the auction organizer directly. SPL Auction is not responsible for any disputes between bidders and organizers.

  • Mediation Services: SPL Auction may offer mediation services in certain circumstances, but we do not guarantee resolution of disputes. Mediation will be conducted in accordance with the specific terms agreed to by the auction organizer and the bidder.

5. How to Request a Refund or Cancellation

If you believe you are entitled to a refund or wish to cancel your participation in an auction, please follow these steps:

  • Contact the Auction Organizer: Since SPL Auction provides the platform but does not manage individual auctions, all requests for cancellations or refunds must be directed to the auction organizer. Each auction page will have contact information for the organizer, including email addresses or customer service numbers.

  • Provide Relevant Information: When contacting the organizer, please provide relevant information such as:

    • The auction name or ID.
    • Your account information (username or registered email).
    • A description of the issue, including any supporting documentation (e.g., proof of payment, photos of damaged goods, etc.).
  • Follow Organizer’s Return and Refund Process: The auction organizer will respond in accordance with their refund and return policies. If you are unable to resolve the issue with the organizer, you may contact SPL Auction’s customer support team for further assistance.

6. Limitation of SPL Auction’s Liability

  • SPL Auction is not responsible for the cancellation of auctions or refunds related to auction items, as we do not manage the sale or bidding process.
  • SPL Auction does not guarantee the availability, condition, or authenticity of auctioned items, and any refund or cancellation decisions are made solely by the auction organizer.
  • In cases where refunds or cancellations are deemed appropriate, SPL Auction is not responsible for processing or delivering the refund, except as required by applicable laws.

7. Changes to the Cancellation and Refund Policy

SPL Auction reserves the right to modify or update this Cancellation and Refund Policy at any time. Changes will be posted on this page, and your continued use of the platform will constitute your acceptance of those changes. We encourage you to review this policy periodically to stay informed.
